Brian it's been in before but I've found that JA707/ 04/ 09/ 05J are pretty regular, but others would know more about the more frequent Rego's coming in.

Hi everyone, I believe QF12 diverted to Brisbane this morning as it shows it on it's way from Brisbane. I have checked flightaware and it's true. Due in at 9:57AM.
By the way, I was at the airport earlier this morning and there were 2 Vietnam A330s. One that just landed and was at the gate, while the other was parked where Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines usually park. Anyone know why?
Thanks!

What was once a regular visitor to SYD but is now an ever so rare movement, Air Tahiti Nui A343, F-OJGF is operating for Air Calin today as ACI140/141. Arriving at 1230pm.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FOJGF

Air Tahiti Nui aircraft operate Air Calin's Noumea - Tokyo service 4x weekly until 03DEC12, so it could well be that one of Calin's A330s is undergoing maintenance and Sydney will see Tahiti multiple times throughout this period as well.

I was only mentioning this story to a friend over the weekend about how I would love to capture an Air Tahiti Nui.

Sounds like it's a great chance now.

I'm aware of the above post and on the other Noteworthy thread, that it will continue the Wednesday Air Calin service until December 5th. Is this quite a firm information?

I'd like to know because Wednesday is a work day for most people and yeah, I need to take the day off just to capture this rare gem.

Thanks,
HB

Yes, flights have been loaded into the booked system as A340-300 operated by Air Tahiti Nui, times 1.30-3.15pm on Wednesdays (Summer time).

However, subject to change of course

Today we had four Star Alliance aircraft in today, SQ 773, AC A333, UA 744, TG 744. And JAL was 708 Oneworld scheme, and China Airlines is Skyteam A333. Don't know how often it's happend but all three Air Alliances in today.

Thai HS-TGW is also wearing 15 year anniversary logo

I didn't have the motivation to go to the airport early in order to catch the Thomson (yes, boring for me as a European ;))...fortunately it was a little sunnier at the other end of the runway.

Would today's CA175/176 Air China service B-6070 be the first time it has visited Sydney since it's a domestic configured A332 rather than the normal international configured A332 planes that are the norm for the CA175/176 service?

Only a few days ago it did CA177/178 to Melbourne.

Afternoon all,

A heads up for Melbourne Spotters, Jordanian International Air Cargo IL76 JY-JID is due into Melbourne at 1940 from Perth.

Stefan is this 76 a stretched version, just by the look of the photos it looks longer...

Stefan Perkas
25th October 2012, 10:00 PM
H i Jaryd,

I am not sure. By the looks of photos I have seen as well, it appears a stretched version.

James S.
26th October 2012, 04:45 AM
It's an Il-76MF, stretched and re-engined with PS90s, they first built the prototype in the late 90s but this aircraft is the first (and only) production variant built in 2011 it seems. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what happened to RA-76900 (cn 1053417563), the last photos of it I can find are in 2005 and I can't locate it's current status anywhere.

Peter Agatsiotis
26th October 2012, 07:27 AM
James had a quick look at Freebird and this Jordanian IL76 could be ex RA76900.
It was returned to the TAPCO factory for mods to IL76MF for the RJAF sometime in 2006 and supposedly delivered around Feb this year?

Just found an entry in August Aviation Letter stating JYJID/361 was in Moscow in June and quote cn 20.3423808 so this is either a new build or just cn change?

James S.
27th October 2012, 05:47 PM
I got this little bit of information on a picture on Airliners.net;

The first production Ilyushin Il-76MF airlifter built for Jordan by Tashkent Aircraft Production Corp. (TAPC) under the contract landed by Rosoboronexport on 17 August 2005, during the visit of the MAKS 2005 air show by the Jordan King and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Jordanian Armed Forces, His Majesty Adballah ben Al-Hussein II, has been undergoing flight tests at Ilyushin’s facility in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region (Take-off Magazine).

So this plus the different c/n leads me to assume that they're different aircraft... Interesting!
