Just wondering if anyone can satisfy my curiosity as to why QF2022 from Sydney to Armidale was diverted (Presumably to Tamworth) today (Oct 15th)?
Saw it come in and join the circuit, then heard it come around again and it was tracking towards Tamworth. Seems odd as weather here today is perfect, no cloud and barely a breath of wind

Most likely an engineering issue which may have grounded them in Armidale, but could be fixed in Tamworth.

Yeah as Hugh says it would most likely be some kind of tech issue in which case QLK is better off with the aircraft in TMW and bussing the pax between the two.
Didn't happen to catch the rego did you? Flightaware has the flight but only under the callsign, doesn't show against any of the Dash's.

Sounds reasonable. And no, too far away to catch the rego unfortunately. Found this though: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QLK22
Thought it was odd that it joined the circuit on crosswind and seemed as if on downwind or base they figured something out and just climbed out and left.

A quick search and I am pretty sure it was VH-TQK which was due to operate QLK2023 but is now operating a flight from tamworth instead.

Cheers Zac! I'm sure that wasn't there when I looked, but who knows. That TMW-SYD was QLK23 which replaces the original QLK23 from ARM earlier today.
