Update at 0430GMT 09NOV12

China Southern Airlines in December 2012 is to operate 2 round-trip Guangzhou – Auckland service on board Airbus A380 aircraft. The A380 is scheduled to operate on 10DEC12 and 14DEC12, replacing A330-200.

Schedule:

CZ305 CAN0030 – 1700AKL 380 10DEC12/14DEC12
CZ306 AKL2300 – 0600+1CAN 380 10DEC12/14DEC12

Assignment of A380 aircraft on these 2 days is due to the carrier’s annual general event, to be held in New Zealand, which sees over 250 delegates from the airline travelling on these dates. CZ has closed reservation in First and Business Class from Guangzhou on 10DEC12 and from Auckland on 14DEC12, prior to the aircraft change reflected in the GDS on 09NOV12. Reservation in Economy Class has re-opened for these 2 particular dates.

As a result of temporary assignment, the airline will offer 1 A380 round-trip service instead of 2 on Guangzhou – Beijing route, as CZ3999/3000 will be operated by A330-200 instead of A380 on 09DEC12, 10DEC12, 13DEC12 and 14DEC12.

Lucky for the time it arrives in AKL the A380 capable gate is free for it to dock at.

They must have at least 2 A380 capable spots since EK flies 2 A380s there each day. What's more, they both depart at around 1815 which appears to clash with the CZ flight?

Yes both Gate 15 and 16 are A380 capable. There is a pic on AKL's wikipedia page with both EKs 380s together:
