Hi,

http://m.theaustralian.com.au/business/aviation/qantas-cancels-dreamliner-order-in-readiness-for-jetstar-long-haul-slowdown/story-e6frg95x-1226556154230

Are we seeing a shift away from Jetstar?

Thanks

Doubt it. The article clearly says 1 787 from Jetstar (International) with the new a/c to Qantas (Domestic, Qantaslink at that). So seems like the status quo to me.

I also doubt it's a shift away from Jetstar & who knows what trick they've kept up their sleeve to cover that one-frame cancellation.

I suspect as well that the article is a little 'creatively' worded in terms of the B717 as there isn't anywhere to SOURCE five new frames, so seems to me what QF probably said was more like "5 of the current fleet will be refit, giving each of them 1 more seats"... thoughts!?

Shows 12 as stored.

2 latest to join the fleet are -2BL's leased from BCC and are ex MexicanaClick frames so I'd imagine that this is where the next 5 will come from.

Apologies, a QF media release confirms the lease of a further 5 frames... with 11 of the stored frames being included in Volotea's 20-frame lease from BCC and the other 1 still owned by Turkmenistan, presumably (and inevitably) Volotea has turned out not to be quite what it's people thought it would?
