not bad, like how they have kept the eagle in the front logo

I love it... one of the best new c/s in quite a while in my opinion! And, as Sarah says, at least it ain't bloody white!!!

Gradually blending the tail flag in with the rest of the livery would have made it a bit better, in my opinion.
I think the edge becomes a bit too sharp and jars a bit.

I like it as well. The logo with the stylised Eagle is especially well done. Very contemporary. I think after a year or two, the new design will have greater acceptance from those who've struggled to understand it.

I too like the logo and the stylised Eagle .. As for the rest , not so sure .. I guess it would look better in the metal but at this stage non too impressed ..

The B777-300ER means more than the introduction of a new type for American Airlines ...

An interesting history of American Airlines and their new B777-300ER service (http://airchive.com/blog/2013/01/19/the-eagle-rises-again-onboard-american-airlines-boeing-777-300er-inaugural-flight/)

Wow, that's a mega article. Incredibly detailed and thorough. How much work did Sloan put into that piece?

You'd have to think, after reading that, that American are on their way back in a big way and soon to exit Chapter 11. I guess next, the inevitable is the merger with US.

The renderings look much worse than what the livery looks in person. Maybe they were a bit too gung-ho with the overly patriotic livery, but I think it will warm to most people over time, it's always hard to please people with what was previously such an iconic livery. Also, does anybody remember how they said that it was going to be a bit retro? Am I the only one reminded of the tail being reminiscent of the pattern of early WW2 US fighters? How would that go down with their Narita flights?

I happened to see an American jet with the new livery take off under a rare cloudy Vegas sky today and I must say the contrast of the horizontal bright blue and red striped tail against the grey fuselage and cloudy sky looked great as it flew up and out into the distance. It will suit the winter skies of its northern hubs for sure.
