A SMALL aircraft has made an emergency landing on a busy Florida highway, managing somehow not to clip nearby cars as it rolled to a stop, US media reported.
The plane touched down about midday local time today on Interstate 95 in Florida's Volusia County, 300 kilometres north of Miami, as stunned onlookers stared in disbelief and nearby cars sped along in both directions.
News media reported no injuries in the incident and did not report what caused the pilot to make the last-ditch manoeuvre.
Local television showed film footage of the disabled plane parked on the highway, as police arrived to assist the pilot, who had been flying solo.
