Hi everyone,

Just wondering if someone can tell me where this photo http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=7590832&nseq=15 was taken from? I notice quite a few taken from this location but I can't figure out where it is. I'm aware of the mound below the Tower but this appears to be a little further to the south or a litle less blocked by the trees.
Also I'm looking for some photos from the Tempe dog park as I'm looking at heading around there next time I head out.
I'm trying to get some more varied shots, after about 10 years of spotting at YSSY, and moving to Sydney permanantly 4 years ago, I've only just discovered swamp road. :o:rolleyes:

Regards Matt

I think that was taken from the roof of a Commodore? It seems to be a limited spotting location, and only a few people can be there at any one time. I've never actually been there myself, but I have seen people who have. Care is recommended when spotting from here, especially if the Commodore starts moving to another location....

Ok, it is from Shep's Mound. ;)

Instead, refer to this thread for a more suitable vehicle option: http://yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=9137

Hi Matt, There is some YSSY Spotting information and location photographs at www.16Right.com (http://www.16Right.com) - go to the YSSY Spotting menu.

thanks for the help guys.
What about these pictures

http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=7188566&nseq=105

Would I be correct in saying these are taken from the Tempe dog park near the driving range?
Thanks again guys, I'm trying to find these different spots so I can get some different angles happening in my collection.

I think you need to start stalking Damien Aiello to find out his spots. :p

There is a 'Contact Damien Aiello' tab under the photos, so perhaps try that route?

Hi Matt, since Damo is in Europe I'll answer for him. Those shots are all taken from just below the Tempe Driving Range. Just search the below coordinates into Google Maps and you will see a path. Just follow it until you reach the end.

Andrew, that's no fun....stalking him would have been the far more enjoyable option, especially if it meant crawling all over Europe looking for a Commodore with people standing on it!

Regarding this Post on Spotting Places, I will be flying in from Riverina and would like to know if the International terminals' viewing balcony is open for somebody with a Zoom Lens and DSLR?
Some security people just don't like harmless people with 'big camera gear' around their necks......

I'm a new member so go easy on me, Ive only been Spotting and photographing aircraft around the world etc for 60yrs.

Scoti, plane geeks turn up at the observation deck all the time with long lenses, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Last I heard he was in Italy if you're keen Nigel :p

Exactly, just leave the Russian military uniform at home and you will be fine.:)

This whole topic has made me wonder if we can start a type of "Spot that planespotting location" game. Just submit a photo from a designated plane spotting location somewhere in Australia, or the world (with a bit of a background teaser), and see who can pick the location. Could be fun. Maybe.

I know this is an old thread, but you used to be able to walk from the tower mound to the bank above General Holmes Drive. I think this is where that shot was taken, like this one of mine.

As mentioned previously Steve, that shot was taken from atop of Damien's car at the mound.

Wow, that's dedication (or is it professionalism?) for you!
