Looking at ATIS and wondered what the 'foxtrot 1 valid' means and also the 'do not pass thru'?

SIGMET FOXTROT 1 valid. Severe turbulence above FL 280. Expect ind. visual approach. Do not pass thru.

the SIGMET foxtrot 1 is valid. The SIGMET is for severe turbulence above FL280. Not really sure why it would be in the Sydney ATIS though as it doesn't involve anything in the Sydney control zone.

Do not pass thru is referring to the extended runway centreline. This is used at aerodromes with parallel runways warning pilots about crosswind that could push the aircraft over the other runway's approach, because independent visual approaches are in use and aircraft are not using the localiser for azimuth guidance. Not really sure why they need to put that in the ATIS though. Pretty sure that's a new thing Sydney have been doing lately. Bankstown (with 3 parallels) always includes this when the crosswind exceeds 8kts.
