View Full Version : Interesting visitor to Canberra today

Today we were treated with a visit from a USN P-8 Poseidon. Even better was when the RAAF Wedgetail arrived and an opportunity to capture the RAAF BBJ, Wedgetail and USN P-8 occurred. Surely this is a first. Unfortunately I didn't get an invite to get up closer :(

VP-16 War Eagles. 16-8429. Had a busy week it was on display in Singapore and then noted back in Kadena on Tuesday then here last night.

The US Navy P-8 was at the Singapore Airshow a week earlier, but unfortunately the public/civilians were not allowed inside due to classified information onboard.

Both the Wedgetail and P-8 were refuelled and locked up this evening. May be a possible morning departure on the cards for them both.

The Wedgetail was still there when I drove past less than an hour ago! Can't miss it from Pialligo Avenue!

Just announced that the RAAF will acquire 8 x P-8s with 4 options.
