I thought I'd also start a comment thread regarding whether the QF Group would consider at some stage putting a JQ A330/787 on the ADL-SIN leg to tap into their SIN JQ/3K network and compete against Air Asia X?

QF spoke of using their SIN base as an Asian gateway following their shift of Europe flights to DXB, yet removed the ADL QF feeder flight to SIN, leaving no non-stop QF group connection from ADL to Asia. While PER has now also lost their QF link to SIN, they still have JQ (but in range of an A320 so slightly different I guess).

Thoughts?

JQ do ADL-DPS. While not a gateway, it does still give atleast a QF group Asian flight ex ADL...well if you can call Bali "Asia" as it seems more like an extension of Western Australia.

All direct SIN flights ex PER are opb 3K.

I'm talking about flight connections though (ADL-DPS is O&D), expanding the QF one-stop connecting reach to Asia out of ADL to multiple destinations (more available destinations than by going one stop via SYD/MEL/BNE). Didn't realize PER-SIN routes were 3K, thanks.
