Looks like DJ 540 VH-VUC went back to OOL as well.

CX139 went to Melbourne and it looks like it won't be back until tomorrow morning.

In a situation like this, could the curfew be relaxed to allow only the diverted flights fly back to Sydney?

SQ 211 9V-SRm also went to Melbourne, due back into SYD at 0930 tomorrow.

EK413 due to depart BNE at 1030 tomorrow, so roughly a 1200-1300 arrival.

That would make too much common sense...

Brisbane...

I live under the southern approach to Brisbane Airport (Norman Park-Morningside area)... wondered why the heck there were so, so many planes lining up tonight... especially the extra EK service that arrived about 2040 local, when I was thinking... huh? Our EK evening service for Dubai is about to depart? The rate of arrivals has only really slowed down in the last half hour (almost midnight here)...

Well said !! ....We wouldn't want too much logic to prevail now would we .

It may be the same situation again today ,with a similar forecast to yesterday for SYD ..

Relaxing the curfew might sound like a good idea, but right now that would be somewhat impractical. With the runway resheet works now happening (as they did last night), the runway is put into reduced length configuration right on 2300, meaning for last night that any aircraft landing 34L would have to be off the runway at Bravo-10, and any departing aircraft would depart from Bravo-10 to the south.

The only practical way to relax it at the moment would be to make 34R available, and that's not going to happen any time soon.
