Looking forward to your report Dale! :D

I hope the last flight to Australia is not 9V-SPP for the Singapore B744. I'd personally like it to be 9V-SPJ that does the last flight here, but I expect its the one out of the last three due for retirement this month. It's quite a nice coincidence that the last 3 have all 3 different variations of the livery!

I too am considering going to Melbourne for the last flight as it is definately the end of an era!

I don't believe it will be SPQ operating the last flight. IIRC it has been retired from the fleet and getting ready for Transaero in Russia. SPQ should be in Singapore at the airshow on static display and MAY be operating the SQ747/748 rotation on April 6.

SPP and SPJ are the only 2 747's left in the fleet at present. How sad... It was only like 8 years ago they had nearly 20+ 747's in the fleet.

The thought of spotting and taking photos of the last SQ flight out of Melbourne does sound enticing.

However, not familiar with the area, can anyone kindly offer any assistance, as to where would be a good spot to take photos in Tullamarine?

If there are good guidance, I might consider taking this special day trip to MEL and back.

Cheers,

Hendra

Here you go Hendra
Melbourne Airport

A Car will be required for all of them, you alway's have the option of taking photo's through the Terminal windows, but the results wont be the best at that time of the day

Can't thank you enough mate. Cheers for the info!

The 737 will be one with the new Sky Interior. Arrives as QF787, as always. I don't know what it will leave on, potentially to Brisbane? as Sydney and Melbourne flights leaving at 5 show a 734.

Unsure at this stage whether a charity flight will operate on the day.

•Caribou
Is this the Caribou that was put in the museum at Canberra or is a airworthy one going to be flown in?

While on this topic does any organisation currently have any airworthy Caribou's in Australia?
I know HARS aquired an Caribou or two but does HARS fly them?

Zac M 19th March 2012 06:37 PM

The HARS aircraft are registered VH-VBA and VBB I am pretty sure.

Does anyone know the regos of the attending aircraft (from Qantas and Virgin) or the arrival times of the HARS aircraft?

Alex Lui 21st March 2012 09:01 PM

Can anyone confirm whether there will be a charity flight going this year?

Todd?? :)
