Someone of the uniformed constabulary had better be there to provide Granny with a Taxi service again......

What's this "again" nonsense Browneye? I have a feeling this year will see someone else other than myself or Floody receiving the blue light limosuine service ;)

So whats the deal as i have never been to one of these Spotting Weekends before. You rock up at some time of day to the location, meet some people and stuff? Morning at mound and arvo at Beach or somthing? I just need to get my barings on what happens. Can someone give me the rundown on the days activities and what will be happning?

Cheers

There's usually some sort of police involvement, strange photos of the airport taken at some really strange times, Krispy Kreme cops a hiding, a Saturday night nosh up, familiarity with whatever airlines cabin crew we can find.

Just a generally great time with a bunch of geeks who like planes.

Don't worry, we haven't lost anyone yet (although Granny went close).

Ahhh yes, with each year comes new adventure... The same theory applies to the Spotting Weekend...

Always looking to take things to the next level!

And this all depends on what time the AV8 bar wants to put up with us for...

;)

First light on Saturday the 7th is 0555, spotting begins then, last light is 2023, spotting finishes then, however, the pub opens from around 10am, so spotting for some of us finishes at 0959, and the night finishes around 0400-0500 (depending how long you last).

Sunday the 8th, first light is 0556, spotting begins then, last light is 2022, however the pubs again, will be open early enough to finish spotting well and truly before last light. This generally sorts out the men from the boys, as many of them are wearing hangovers and lack of sleep from the night before, however a big serving of Krispy Kreme fixes this easily (good luck keeping them down).

I may be in attendance, however I don't think I'll be around for spotting activities. I spend too much time at airports as it is, :(.
