Saw VUF depart today but too slow for a good photo as I wasn't taking photos of DJ today. snapped one anyway but it was too far away at that stage.

If you look at some of the pictures on jetphotos.net or alike you can see just before (or after depending on what side of AC) the AFL Logo up the top it does not align, and for the size of the AC its a pretty big mess up.

I only notice this as I do signage myself

At the end of the day does it really matter?

Dan Hammond 30th January 2011 06:53 PM

I did not notice it till it was mentioned here. But at the end of the day is the average passenger going to notice it? I mean its still clear as to what the logo jet is all about and its easy to see and make out the wording/logos on it. just my 2 cents

Also notice that the door is further aft on the port side? ;)

Yes boeing do build them different.

James Smith 30th January 2011 07:44 PM

It is because there are five teams inscribed on the starboard side top row in front of the AFL logo and only four on the top row of the port side, resulting in the logo being further rearward by about on window length on the starboard side of the fuselage. The difference must be made up in the next rearward red segment.

Is VUF/VUM/VUY in Brisbane today between 2pm and 1730? I saw VUY yesterday on finals whilst at and even managed to get a really **** picture.
