Air Canada Over 10Hr Late Today
 

Just noticed AC2033 on Planeplotter more than 10Hr behind the usual arrival time of 0815.

Just departed 16R as AC2034 tracking via Long Reef at 12,000ft then south of ENTRA at 17,000ft

That'd be me. To say the least, we were never told- but my sources were kind enough to inform me. C-FNND took off from CYYZ and encountered some sort of engine problem, rather than turn back, they decided to soldier on to CYVR for reasons I cannot fathom. When I deplaned in CYVR from CYEG we were already well aware of the two hour delay. I think, what happened was AC thought that since C-FNNH was in CYVR at the time they could pull of a swap with no issue. Unfortunately for them, C-FNNH's HF radio equipment was broken. Because both planes were no out of comission, rather than informing us that we had to wait for C-FIUJ to come back from YSSY in a timely manner, they made us wait patiently in a terminal with no food until 2:00am. Then informing us we had to be back at 7:00 to check in. Amazingly, C-FNNH's HF systems borked again this morning and it made for a lovely beach departure. When I finish my A.net trip report all shall see the glory of AC- that is for sure.

My question is, how can the same Aircraft (C-FNND) be here flying AC33/34 on Saturday July 4 and be expected to be here flying AC33/34 on Sunday as well?

How is this possible? No wonder it was late.

Not possible at all, I was on IUJ. At least I am pretty sure I was on IUJ given we were told we had to wait for the plane to arrive from Sydney, which at the time was IUJ. If I recall correctly, NND was towed over to the MX base, and then ferried without passengers to YYZ for some more work to be done. AC seems to send out a lot of erroneous ACARS messages, on Monday there were both a 767 and A330 operating AC034, but I was at the mound and saw neither. Largely because they were not there.

Not really late but to save a new thread, does anyone know why there is two Air Canada aircraft operating today. This mornings ACA033 was operated by C-FNNH and the outgoing ACA034 flight was operated by C-FNND? Any clues on this one?

I noticed this as I pulled in on NNH, I have no idea what so ever as to what AC is up to, but I can state that Canada has had some strange weather over the past few days that could contribute to such an occurrence.

Just had some time to do some looking around and it seems like ACA033 arrived as per usual yesterday (14th) but didn't depart and as such C-FNNH arrived this morning and FNND departed this afternoon as per usual as ACA034. Tonight, the second aircraft departed as AC2034 to Toronto presumably empty? (I think this is all right, i might have gotten it out of order :rolleyes: lol.)

Anyone know the reason why there was presumably no departure of ACA34 yesterday?

The Air Canada Vancouver -Sydney flight on Monday diverted into Nadi.

Cyclone in the area delayed its departure I believe and arrived into Sydney about 12 hours late.

I am in Canada and the past week has not been any warmer than -28 and therefore has been way too cold for snow, although the next week we are expecting temps around -10 so looking forward to getting out in that snow hopefully.

Good 'ol north american winter! Keep the snow coming I'll be skiing in Colorado in Feb I expect only fresh snow!
