will it allow QF International over time to take in a new shareholder, while quarantining the QF Domestic businesses (aka what VA has recently done)

especially if the 2 divisions are moved into diffident corporate entities under Qantas Airways Limited

Now the move to jetstar QF domestic starts

They were my thoughts too. They are being split so that one, either domestic or international, can become Jetstar. That would be a Jetstar which would receive a makeover just like Virgin Blue recently did with Virgin Australia... A Jetstar that would not remain as budget as it is...

Just my thoughts, but either way this is the start of big changes.

International will be sold off / off shored, but by having domestic still based in Australia, it should meet the federal government ownership laws.

Did someone say previously that QF were paying JQ's facility costs, such as terminals or similar. I remember hearing about it somewhere, just cant recall?

It was stated elsewhere that both international and domestic will be subject to the Qantas Sale Act, ie neither will be able to have majority foreign ownership.
