How will the 77W go given the following extract of the ERSA?

"TWY A6 to TWY B2 and TWY B2 to TWY A6 not AVBL to A340-500, A340-600 and B777-300 type ACFT, due insufficient TWY edge clearance."

Hi All,

Doesn't Adelaide also have a curfew?

If so, aren't EK pushing the Departure Time a little??

Stuart

Pushing it yes, I would assume Back tracking will be used...

Hmm fair enough... I guess at 2045 there's not so much going on at ADL that would stop backtracking. And yes, definitely pushing it with curfew!

Mark Grima 5th July 2012 03:15 PM

Sorry, what do you mean by backtracking?

Cheers

Hi Mark

Land, turn around at the runway end, taxi back along the runway and exit by a taxiway you already passed. Vice versa for a departure.

So we're suggesting for a 23 landing the EK flight will need to turn at the southern threshold, taxi back along the runway and turn off at B2. Likewise for a 05 departure the aircraft will need to enter the runway at B2, taxi all the way down and turn on the threshold.

On reflection I'm not sure that would work anyway... my reading is both A6 AND B2 are unavailable to 77W which effectively means there is no way a 77W can access the terminal. Unless what the ERSA means is a 77W can't TURN between A6 and B2??

Cheers
Rowan

I have an Adelaide Tower rating and back tracking is not required. Existing taxiways can be used normally for the B773 except the taxiway between L and B2 (ie A6) and there are many ways of getting around that issue without the use of back tracking.
