Bit late for this now, but it had only 2 racehorses on it!
They were offloaded to give them some fresh air before re-loading them with some other horses they were picking up in Sydney.
Can't tell you where they were heading to, sorry mate.
If you're not aware, racehorses are just one of the items on the list of Emiratis registered "hobbies" :D
Btw, they also have a "thing" for fancy cars -

Falcons (birds) are a thing too, they'll pay $$$$$$$$ for a good one

Saw an unknown aircraft on radar with the callsign MRNE1 flying above Newcastle at about 11:19PM Sydney time. Anyone know what it is?

A318 B-55411 departs Sydney at 10pm syd time for anyone who has the guts to go out and catch it departing. My parents would be furious if i woke them up in the middle of the night to take me to see it.

lloyd fox 3rd January 2020 08:15 PM

PR-EHT just north of Jakarta this time inbound to BNE tomorrow night early Sunday.:)

This is Air Kirabati's first E190-E2 and the first visit of this model to Australia.

The larger 195 has been here last year.

It will become VH-IKJ and first of type on the Aussie register.

Brenden S 6th January 2020 10:57 PM

AN124 arriving tomorrow (7th) with a Bell 412

Sean L 7th January 2020 07:22 AM

Sydney? What time?

Sean L 7th January 2020 06:53 PM

I've been on flightradar all day and still no an124?

Brenden S 8th January 2020 12:23 AM

Sorry it is the 9th.

Oh, ok. So sydney right? Rego?

Brenden S 8th January 2020 01:45 PM

Yes Sydney and RA-820??

Sean L 8th January 2020 04:12 PM

Ok, so i assume the rego is unknown because pretty much every volga dnepr An124 has 820 in its rego. How about arrival and departure time? Also i predict that it is ra-82044 because it is in beijing. Though it could be ra-82078 since it is in hanoi. These are the 2 closest antonovs to sydney. Man, sydney hasn't had an antonov in a while. This one's gonna be a first for me. Very excited.

Is it Volga or Antonov aircraft given a Ruslan dropped into the home of firefighting choppers in the US yesterday?

Well if its RA-820?? Then its Volga Dnepr.
If its UR-820?? then its Antonov

I was asking if it’s confirmed which airline, not a question about rego

Sean L 9th January 2020 11:07 AM

Is it just me, or do i have a feeling that the an124 isnt coming today because there are no an124s on radar. Ra-82044 has departed PEK but is not flying towards sydney.

It was, however it was damaged on ground and could not get the door closed. A replacement is expected in the next few days.

Ohhh, no wonder it never arrived. Ok then. Thx for the info. Anyone got any info on its estimated arrival and departure time from sydney?

The schedule would be all out of whack considering they don't have a replacement yet so I'd just wait and see :)

Maybe set a Flightaware.com Alert for An124's arriving at Sydney ;)

Sean L 10th January 2020 02:09 PM

How? It only gives me options of airline and flight or tail number.

Sean L 11th January 2020 07:06 AM

UR-82029 heading for US. Replacement?

Heli's came in on todays Atlas 747-8 service so I doubt an Antonov will come anymore.

One did pop into Perth last night, bit of a drive to see it. It did what is probably one of its shortest ever flights going from Johor Baru to Changi, still took 20 mins
