January / February Noteworthy Movements

Happy New Year All

Just monitoring Malaysia B737-800 9M-MXG climbing to FL340.

Checked my SBS log which is showing it arrived here on the 29th Dec (down to 6000')!
Didn't see any reports so a bit clueless.

I was at SYD yesterday and nobody mentioned it so if anyone can help out?

I believe this is 9M-ATM, I don't know why an improper aircraft type and reg is displaying for it though.

Peter Agatsiotis 1st January 2012 11:13 AM

Okay that ties in with the arrival of (9M-ATM). Thanks guys.

Tony G 1st January 2012 02:12 PM

Anyone know if Cathay cargo is coming in this afternoon? Thanks.

Stefan Perkas 1st January 2012 02:21 PM

Tony,

Doesn't appear to be anything due today according to CX Cargo's arrival and departures site or Hong Kong Airport. But there is one tomorrow arriving at 1050 and another one on Tuesday arriving at the same time.

SQ, MH and CX seem to reduce operation sover XMAS/New year period. I think there was one SQ on Friday morning, I noticed last night on flightradar24 MAS Kargo sent the A332F 9M-MUA as MH6207.

Tony G 1st January 2012 02:34 PM

Thanks for your quick reply Stefan, Hopefully Monday and Tuesday continue with this great weather.

Aussie air express 737 VH-XMB just arrived 34L

Jaryd stock 2nd January 2012 06:24 AM

VH-XMB has departed to Brisbane.

Mark T 2nd January 2012 04:36 PM

Whilst on the subject of Malaysian aircraft I have just seen Malaysian Airforce A319 depart. Rego appears to be 9M-NAA with flight number NR1. This was on SBS Basestation and too slow to get outside to "eyeball".
Cheers
Mark

Peter Agatsiotis 2nd January 2012 04:41 PM

yeah Mark just came overhead but couldn't see it as the sun is in the direction departures are going, hope to spot the SQ A330 later (9V-STO).

The A319 arrived on Christmas Eve if I remember correctly, and has occupied a bay on Dom 4 since

This one had no rego number however a worthy movement. This balloon flew in between runways 34L ad 34R this morning. It was quite big and would have been an issue for an aircraft engine. Tower had requested airport cars to bring it down which was quite comical as the ballon was rising.

departs SYD Friday 6th at 1400L, currently on Bay 78.

Paul Hunter 5th January 2012 03:19 AM

Julian,

We don't have a Bay 78 yet, A6-GGP is parked on Bay 74.

Regards.

Nigel C 5th January 2012 07:25 AM

Paul,

It must be parked at a bad angle from where you're perched...it's on Bay 75 ;)

I think there's plans for a Bay 76 and 77, but I've heard nothing about extending the Juliet apron to include a 78.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

Yes, you are correct. Looked like 74 at first glance thru my bleary "doggo" eyes last night. Could do with all those extra bays including a "78".:)

Regards.

Nigel C 5th January 2012 03:57 PM

Yes, that's what I figured when I heard you again late this arvo. I bet the TOC wishes they had 78 too!
