VAU1 heading for BNE

Just noticed on PlanePlotter that VAU1 (VH-VOZ) is heading for Brisbane.

My SBS log shows it leaving SYD at around 8:15 pm.

Anybody heard anything?

VA 1 is currently at 4,300 ft just east of Amity point, Nrth Stradbroke Island on approach to Rwy 19 as for the divertion no idea one can assume it's a medical or technical did it leave SYD on time?

and just parked at Gate 83.

No idea for diversion as of yet.

Didn't return to SYD due curfew, must have dumped a bit of fuel.

According to my SBS-1 radar,

It has not departed Brisbane as of yet.

More then a medical diversion in my opinion.

if anyone knows what the reasoning behind this is and could let us know that would be great!

Cheers Matt

Security Issue.

Bag had to come off that should have been left behind in SYD.

Expensive Diversion for 1 bag

Lee G 23rd August 2009 10:23 PM

Could have been worse - if the bag didn't come off and the TSA in the US found out it would have been a big fine and a possible review of VAU into the US.

The right course of action was taken, I believe.

So why wasnt a bag search conducted in SYD??? TOLL are going to have some explaining to do.
