Flight cost sharing

Hey guys,

Brand new here but long time aviation tragic.

I've been working on an Australian flight cost sharing platform for pilots and non-pilots to connect.
The gist is that pilots can take passengers on any trip.
Lots of flights happen every week with empty seats and they don't need to.

Check it out and sign up if you're interested in watching it evolve:

Rodrigo ,
I’ve read the link you attached . One thing that immediately springs to mind , and that is , how can a private pilot holding a PPL take a fare paying passenger ? . Surely a CPL ( commercial pilots license ) is the very least pilot license that would legally be required . Secondly , all would fine and dandy until there was an accident , can you just imagine the legalities involved in such a damages claim . Having said all that , best of luck .

@David C,

Thanks for the well wishes.

To your concern about fee payment, it turns out CASA rules are very reasonable in this regard for private pilots. A contribution can be made to the cost of a flight by a passenger, no problems. Cost sharing in this way happens informally already, we're working on making it more efficient amongst other things.

To your concern about accidents, as much as we hate to entertain the thought of such an event it is a risk indeed - cost sharing or no cost sharing. Our current approach, informed by advice we've received within the insurance industry, allows for flights covered by a level of insurance that would address such an event.

Again, thanks for the well wishes and feel free to drop us a line at info@flighttime.co if you're interested in watching it evolve or even better, help us shape it into a more useful tool for you and others.

Cheers
