A very clean example of the Antonov AN-12BP taxiing for departure off Runway 34L at Sydney Airport today. UR-CAK arrived 2hrs earlier from Surabaya, and then departed back to Denpasar. Looking very smart for 52yrs old, those massive smoke trails from each engine was 60s magic.

Unfortunately there was too much heat haze for the AN-12 arrival, however the departure was somewhat better.

Thanks Grahame. I heard something loud overhead in the inner west yesterday, but used flightradar rather than eyes to work out what it was - and missed seeing the AN12 as a result :(

Interestingly she diverted to Darwin and is still there.
