December Noteworthy Movements Discussion
MODERATOR:
Pictures, Comments, Questions etc for December Noteworthy Movements should be posted here. Tomorrow's ANZ103 is being operated by a B777-300ER, and given that ZK-OKP (a.k.a. Hobbit jet) is currently on its way to AKL as ANZ1 it's very likely that we're gonna see some Hobbits tomorrow. Anyone to confirm this? |
Singapore Airlines flight 241/242 will be operated as a 777-200ER tomorrow.
|
Yep its been confirmed! OKP is hopping across the ditch tomorrow *providing nothing goes wrong in the mean time*
|
What a way to start the month.
Unfortunately, with the weather/temp predicted tomorrow, I reckon it would be quite challenging to get a clean shot, pending on the runway movement, Qantas Drive and it's surroundings might just be the best spot. Enjoy the Hobbit spotting tomorrow. Got to miss this one due to other commitments. :) Cheers, HB |
The Hobbit has arrived in SYD & in other news, China Eastern B-6127, is back to wearing the standard scheme! It's operating MU561/562 today.

HORRID conditions, went from overcast/rain for arrival, to nearly 40c by departure, but still, glad to have seen it... Not a bad decal really!!

Good shots mate, I didn't fare any better on the other side, I am liking the new black tail too.
|
The black tail looks great with the Hobbit decals, however, I don't think I'll share the same sentiments on their normal livery once they repaint their aircraft...

An Air New Zealand 747 inbound over Petersham just now.

Yesterday's was operated by 9V-SVM. Today's SQ241/242 is being operated by 9V-SRN. |
Air New Zealand NZ119 was operated by a 747-400 registered as ZK-SUH.
|
Yeah, it was nice to see an Air NZ 747 arrive this afternoon. A somewhat rare treat. Missed the Hobbit (not a fan though) as I was at the Qantas jet base touring an A380 at the #QantasTweetUp

ANZ's 774's and 77W will be a common sight on weekends leading up to Christmas apparently.

good for some, for those of us working in other ports it made our day painful as everything was late!
|
I don't think the airlines, ATC or the airports would be happy.
|
DC-3/C47 VH-SBL arrived at Temora just after lunch today. Anyone able to find out any more info at all?

ZK-OKQ Departing Runway 25... |
A few flights from Auckland have been delayed, eg ANZ105 will now arrive at 10:05pm instead of 5:30pm and a few other Air New Zealand flights have been cancelled. CI52 will now arrive at approx 9:56pm instead of 8:30pm. Also Jetstar and Qantas flights out of Auckland have been delayed too.
Could anyone fill us in on the reason? |
Nice one Jaryd!
|
Rory it was due to bad weather.
|
More can be found here about the weather in AKL.

Edit: Chris beat me by 30 seconds. :) |
There are two Emirates a380's in this morning. Problems with EK413 again last night?
|
China Southern A380 on route to Auckland just over head Cairns B-6139 is CSN-305 one of 2 specials i believe..
|
I'm seeing N415MC which supposedly is wearing Emirates SkyCargo is approaching our shore. Would this be correct or has she been repainted and wearing the Atlas Air colors now?
Anyway, operating as QFA7556 from HNL. Again, if it is EK Cargo - always missing out on the good stuff lol. :p |

Yeah it was full Emirates SkyCargo livery. Ferrying out to HKG later this evening. |

B-LAR didn't operate CX100 yesterday and is still on the ground so presume mechanical problem. It is showing on Planeplotter with no position.
|
KE121 is a 777-200ER tomorrow instead of a 747-400. HL7752 is the registration.

Incidently they could feasably bring it over daily as theres at least 1 747 parked up at AKL all day, in fact I've seen 12 of 20 (7 777s, 4 767s, 1 747) of their widebody fleet parked at AKL from 6am and still there at 6pm. Not great utilisation of their fleet. I wonder how that compares to QF. NZ could be one of the world worst IMO. No wonder why they rake up a $1m INTL OPS loss per week. |
Just a heads up for tomorrow. ZK-OKP in "The Hobbit" livery might be in Sydney. NZ118/119 to SYD and NZ135/136 to BNE are scheduled to be operated by Boeing 777-300ER's so one will be lucky and get OKP and the other will get OKM.
EDIT: Sorry guys, I have heard that it is scheduled to go to BNE. |
Oh bloody hell!

Brindabella
Has Brindabella started flying there J41 in and out of Sydney yet?
|
Can confirm that Brindabella have started flying the J41 into Sydney, saw VH-TAI departing this morning.
|
Ta James, it would be on the Cobar sector?
|
QF21 747 took off from Cairns (very loud I will say) at 0245 am this morning on its way to Tokyo, not sure why it was here (medical diversion maybe).
