Just a fairing that they got in stock and hasn't been repainted yet?

Ex-VA AT76 VH-FVY has just filed BNE CNS with a departure of 1600.
Is this the next aircraft for Olympic? (following FVR)

Ex-TT A320 VH-VNK has entered service with VARA as VH-VNR

Bob C 19th April 2022 11:03 AM

I think the former VH-VNK has entered service with VARA as VH-VNR.

James Smith 19th April 2022 11:06 AM

I think you mean VH-VNR has entered service, Tristan.

Ex-Tiger VH-VNO was re-registered OE-INN which returned as VH-VKQ with VARA on 4/4/22. Ex-Tiger VH-VNK was re-registered OE-IMY which has now returned as VH-VNR.

Interestingly VNR positioned from MEL to PER on 13/4/22 and then flew PER-ADL-PER on 18/4/22 as VA712/717. It looks as though VARA A320s regularly operate this return Virgin flight.

"In the biggest upgrade of its fleet in Western Australia, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines will retire its 10, 100-seat Fokker 100s and replace them with 149-seat Boeing 737-700s."

The F100's were getting old & tired

Further down, in the same article

Separately the Virgin Australia Group has committed to four Boeing 737 MAX aircraft that will join the fleet in February next year and these aircraft use 15 per cent less fuel than the airline’s 737-800s.
