Wild Brisbane Weather - Diversions
Good Evening All,
Very severe storms are currently lashing Brisbane Airport and Brisbane's Bay areas. I understand a number of aircraft have diverted although alas, information is very limited. Can anyone list aircraft/flights that have diverted to other ports? I understand the PX 757 has diverted to an unknown port.. I live not too far West of Brisbane and there's a number of aircraft in a holing pattern above - fuel must be becoming an issue? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f5...g?t=1227174463 There's more storms forming to my SW, so it appears everyone is in for a long night! Cheers PS: have received about 200mm of rain here since 9am yesterday |
A great night to be indoors! Looks rather nasty.

QF542 SYD-BNE has diverted to Tamworth (operated by a 737-400) - would have made alot of noise upon landing in a place that is used to seeing Q300/400s
|
Could the runway at Tamworth take a 767?

Hey Mr Bindon, that weather radar here is nuts. Havent ever seen the black before.

More information seems to be flowing through now...
PX5 POM-BNE diverted to Sydney as did SQ245 SIN-BNE. Cheers PS - I'm not David Bindon Mr Bowrey ;) |

Very bad indeed, at it's peak the winds and rain were nearly cyclonic. It has moved out to sea now but there are still aircraft diverting around weather as I type. We have only just had our power restored after a blackout. More storms predicted for Saturday night with more intensity and high winds we are really coping it here.
