QF747 at LAS
1 Attachment(s)
I just noticed from my office a QF 747 in oneworld livery land at Las Vegas. Anyone know why? A charter or a diversion?
Attached is a photo. Excuse the quality, it was taken on my phone as I wasn't expecting it. |
It is a charter

Great, thanks Sarah. It's at a stand off bay now.

It looks as though from the Sydney Airport international departures from yesterday (Friday 17 July, 2015) that there was a QANTAS flight QF6031 which was due to depart for Las Vegas at 12:00 noon and actually left the terminal at 12:45 pm.
Based on my estimate it would have arrived at Las Vegas around 9:30 - 10:00 am local on Friday. The registration should be VH-OEF thanks to 16Right.com. There is no arrival time back in Sydney for the return charter flight that I can see, either tomorrow or Monday, so it may be staying at Las Vegas for a few days while the passengers all make their fortunes. Alternatively, it may depart for elsewhere on a multi-stop trip such as a Captains Choice tour. |
Yeah, I took the photo at 9.40am local time Friday so your timing is spot on James.
It's at a stand off bay at the moment (Friday 4.30pm) so it may wait until the return flight. |
The aircraft has since positioned to Los Angeles. Charter was for flight centre group. Return flight to Sydney QF6032 scheduled for 2200 Sunday 19th.

Thanks Nathan. Yeah as I left work about 5.15pm last night I saw it at the D gates at an air bridge getting prepared for departure.
Thanks everyone for all the info. |
OEF currently operating the return flight.

Thanks, I'll look out for it if I haven't already missed it.

You missed it Justin, sorry, she arrived home in SYD 24 hours ago
