Saturday Afternoon Cross Wind At YSSY
With the wind swing between 230 and 270 degrees and reaching 28Kts, some of the approaches to Runway 34 Left on Saturday afternoon were interesting. One aircraft actually requested a 16Right departure but there was little interest from the tower. Holding the camera in the crosswind was also challenging.

Amazing set of photos again Grahame! For sure some of the passengers would have slightly elevated heart rates along with some pilots i presume!
Love the two with the MD-11! Thanks for posting them! Gerard |
Great photos Grahame! I knew the thread talking about crosswinds would bring a few on!
|
Feel free to post your photos too Chris. I'd be happy to see others of MD11 and A380! :)
We're there many go-arounds on Saturday? |
Wow, the passengers on the starboard window would have been able to see down the runway they were about to land on. Has anyone experienced that sight from a landing aircraft?
|
Some great shots there.
|
Gerard, not a single go around between 2pm and 5pm from what I saw.
