The report details pax movements and aircraft movements for next 20 years at all capital city airports. This is the latest update report.

It appears as BNE will lead the growth of both over the next 20 years
Refer to page 17 of the report for all capital city airport details both pax and movements

Very interesting Lloyd.

The stand out stats/projection for me is the size (capacity) of aircraft that will be required for regional and inter-capital routes.

Qantas/Jetstar will have the 787's and Virgin Blue will probably end up with a few 737-900's. Tiger - who knows? A321's?

Could we see REX operating larger a/c than they do now? The only real prop commuter a/c being built at present are the ATR and DHC8-400.
They could upgrade to second hand Dash 8's or Saab 2000, Fokker 50's or even Embraer/CRJ jets. Long way off I know and I will probably not be around in 2029.

Remember Kendell with their CRJ-200's? Don't know how successful/economical they were as they didn't get a chance after the Ansett collapse.

Lots of possibilities/scenarios.

Um, is it just a bad reflection on the fin of the aircraft on the front page, or is it a subliminal message about the future of Australian air travel?
