Great pics Jayden. And who says WA isn't the State of Excitement with action like that
|
Fantastic pics Jayden and a big public "Thank You" Luke for arranging the Qantaslink charter.
The 6 minute flight up and 15 minute scenic flight back to Perth were memorable and greatly appreciated by the 74 passengers. Flying sure beat fighting with the traffic as I've heard that some people took nearly three hours to leave the airfield after the show on Saturday. Can't wait to do it again. Cheers Bob |
Great pics Jayden!
Hopefully I will get around to going to the next RAAF airshow next year, looks like a great show! |
Very nice pics Jayden!

Nice Jay, what is the aircraft that cockpit shot is of ? And did the Globemaster do a full routine or a few flybys
And a note to Avalon airshow organisers this is how you get a B-52 to do a proper flyby, not one pass at 7,000ft and that's it.... |
It's the cockpit of an F111. The RAAF have a few F111 escape capsules that they use for displays.

Jaryd, the cockpit is of the F-111 & the engine is also out of an F-111. They had a stand area in a hangar for the F-111.
The C-17 did a full routine. It did a full performance take off, a steep airfield descent, low & fast flyby & ended with a full reverse thrust landing followed by a reversing manoeurve on the runway before taxying forward & vacating the runway! Also one of the RAAF guys told me that the B-52 had a "special load" of bombs onboard for the bombing range in Woomera before heading home. It was something like a non stop 19hr return flight from/to Guam that the crews had to do. |
