VH-OJL to Avalon

I read the other day that -OJL flew to Avalon. What sort of servicing will it be undertaking down there? General grease and oil change? Refurbished interior?
Thank you

D check

If OJL is down at AVV for a D check, one,it will be there for a while, and two,one would think it may not be leaving the fleet too soon.

Here's hoping....

Cheers
Jim

Is it OJL or OJI. Flight Aware showed OJI SYD/AVV on 10 May, still there. OJL did NRT/SYD on 15/6 arr 16/6 ??

Jim M 19th June 2013 09:38 PM

Dennis, you are correct. I was wondering whether anyone else picked up the same mystery as me. OJI is still at AVV,but according to the Qantas Source and on the 16right ACARS log,OJL positioned to AVV as QF6195 on Sun morning, shortly after arriving from NRT.

Why this flight has not shown up on Flightaware,I have no idea.

Cheers
Jim

Definitely VH-OJL went to AVV. I'd seen the post on Jetspotter, so I had a look on the iPhone at FlightRadar24 & it was at 17,000' on descent. It went straight over the top of Tullamarine at about 6,000' & positioned straight in for R18. I only live 5km to the south of MEL.

Hi Ian and Jim, thanks.

VH-OJI should be back from AVV and in service early next week.

VH-OJL should be back from AVV and in service early the week after.

VH-OEJ is heading down to AVV shortly for a 'C' check.

As for some trivia OJL OJM OJA and OJC all have over 100,000 hours on them now too. OJE is nearly there!

Hi Fred

Thanks for the update and the 747s hitting the century mark which is quite an achievement.

I try to keep records of high time B747s and have the N746SA (originally PH-BUI of KLM) with 134,694 hours as the highest. A post of yours sometime ago mentioned that VH-OJG was the first QF aircraft to reach that milestone and I believe it reached 100,612 hours before being retired.

Can you please give me the actual numbers for OJL OJM OJA, OJC and the almost there OJE ?

Cheers

Bob
