A319 CSTFU was in town bringing competitors in the World Marathon Challenge from Dubai to Sydney for the 7th and final Marathon.
The WMC requires competitors to race 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. It kicked off in Antartica just over 6 days prior to them arriving in Sydney.
This was the first year that a private jet had been chartered for all flights, after the return from Antartica.
The Sydney event, an out and back course on the Manly foreshore kicked off about 2300 hours, about 2 hours after the flight landed.
For the record the event was one by American Mike Wardian with an average time of 2:45.
Oh yeah, he ran the Antartica race in 2:54. Insane!!
Cheers
