The U S S George Washington with air wing CVW-5/NF embarked moored in Gage Roads off the coast of Fremantle W A today. She was accompanied by the guided missile cruiser U S S Cowpens.
According to Channel 10, after the crews enjoy six days R&R in Perth, the ships will head to Qld where they will participate in an exercise (Talisman Sabre ?) with the ADF.
On a separate note, two USAF C17s have made at least six visits to Perth airport in the last 10 days or so.
