I bet they're not laughing when they get hit from behind by those very same A380's/B777's....

Thornton, we have Nankeen Kestrels and Black-shouldered Kites here that both 'hover' for prey. On a windy day they don't put much effort into flying at all, but like aircraft on take off and landing they face into wind which means they just don't see aircraft coming up fast behind them. This makes them a 'good' candidate for birdstrike.
