Boeing 787 Dreamliner launch customer All Nippon Airways knocked its first 787 into a boarding bridge on Oct. 13, causing slight damage to an engine cowling, Flightglobal reported Wednesday.
The incident happened while a ground crew was towing the aircraft, and caused only surface damage, a spokesman told Flightglobal. Flight testing resumed the next day.
ANA plans to start 787 with a charter run from Tokyo Narita airport to Hong Kong on Oct. 26, returning to Narita the following day, followed by excursion flights departing from and returning to Narita on Oct. 28 and 29. It plans to launch regular service between Tokyo Haneda Airport and Okayama and Hiroshima, Japan starting on Nov. 1, then fly between Haneda and Beijing once a week from December until Jan. 21, when it will start long-haul 787 service between Haneda and Frankfurt, Germany.
