Definitely a takeoff Philip, I remember taking the shot from where the Virgin Blue cargo hanger is today, and have a sequence of images from holding in taxiway GOLF 4 to lifting off down towards the intersection. The brick tower in the background is part of the sewerage works, and if you have a look on Goodle Earth you will notice three sets of double white runway markers, well down the runway from the piano keys. My estimation from GE would place the aircraft aboyut 300mtr down the runway from the 25 threshold.
Can you believe the GA security fence along Ross Smith Avenue in the photograph of Navajo Panther N7XB. I can remember there was a garden style gate to gain access to the aircraft from the footpath.
