my guess would be that this is the way the "budget" carriers will staff overseas flights....
instead of using Australian crews to do Mel - Singapore and beyond, very clever to open base in Singapore and use their crews
yes, you are right, pay and conditions are entirely different and reading the numerous forums, there are ALWAYS complaints about the inept crews the budget carriers use on their long haul and Asia flights (cabin) and always complementing Aust crews.....
Worry is the standards in Asia will filter thru to australia....
