Good to see there is such a high level of interest in aviation in the 1980s.
I thought I would flip through the Military Album next which brought back memories of visits to Williamtown, Richmond, Sale, Sydney, Tullamarine, Moorabbin and Schofields. There was a good selection of aircraft types and also some of the visitors from overseas.
Here we go ...
RAAF Mirage A3-72 on the flightline at Williamtown in May 1983 - can't imagine them parking a billion dollars worth of aircraft like this
today, but the line of Mirages looks fairly impressive. This was during a visit to Williamtown with the Aeronautical Society when the
Singapore Airforce was there for combat training (some photographs of their aircraft later).
RAAF Mirage 111E A3-2 at the Righmond Bi-Centennial Air Show in October 1988 - normally stationed at Edinborough in SA as part of the
Aircraft Research And Development Unit (ARDU).
RAAF Winjeel CA-25 A85-458 at Williamtown in May 1983 - it looked a little out of place with the Mirages.
Army Nomad N22 A18-309 at Sydney in November 1982 - there was something about the Nomad that I always liked. Taxiing here for
a Runway 25 departure.
RAAF DHC-4 Caribou A4-210 at Richmond in October 1988 - light camouflage colour scheme
RAAF DHC-4 Caribou A4-299 at Richmond in October 1988 - dark camouflage colour scheme.
RAAF PC-9 A23-004 at Richmond in October 1988 - there is a BAC-111 in the background.
RAAF BAC111-200 A12-125 at Richmond in October 19810 - one of the VIP Transport fleet and they used the callsign Envoy back
then also.
RAAF Mystere 20 A11-085 in 1981 - another of the VIP Transport fleet
RAAF DC-3 A65-91 at Essendon in December 1987.jpg
