Careers at the ATSB
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is about to embark on its largest recruitment campaign since becoming an independent statutory authority in July 2009. While our primary purpose - to improve transport safety – remains steadfast, the way in which we operate has evolved.

Working as “one team”, we have created an operational environment where our greatest resource – our people – will more effectively bring to bear their collective wealth of core skills and attributes to improve transport safety across the aviation, rail and marine transport sectors.

In addition to conducting independent accident and incident investigations, Transport Safety Investigators (regardless of their industry/disciplinary skills) will also contribute to our renewed focus on data collection, analysis and research, and will raise the safety awareness of industry and communities through safety education.
