Your report brings back some good memories from my trip to Longreach back in August 2010. The flights to LRE were only $49 one way ($98 return) back then owing to a really good Qantaslink promotion. The only downside was the OMG departure time from BNE (06:55am on a Saturday which neccesitated an overnight stay).
I did the 747 Secrets and Wing Walk Tour (in hindsight, I should have done the ultimate tour package). It was amazing! I loved the visit to the cockpit plus the computer bay and cargo hold.
There was also a certificate for the Wing Walk.
By the way, did they give you a certifcate for the 707 Wing Walk?
