If I'm reading Dennis's post correctly, he seems to be suggesting that SYD is missing out to the tune of 1x daily A330 departure (to anywhere). What should be stressed is that this announcement (just like, obviously, the announcements of QF9/10 rerouting and anything else about the deployment of the B789) is not a complete picture. As Zac has said, we know that the A330 fleet is to have WiFi installed which will require one A330 to be offline for a week at a time during that work. We also know there is at least one more A380 to be redeployed (albeit they will undergo a cabin upgrade, etc), which could see an additional A330 released from an Asian route. My point is, it's just as likely there will be a new route ex-SYD using an A330 that's been freed up elsewhere.
