Flew back in from AKL on LA801 yesterday morning. Helluva commute to the office!

I do enjoy the QF codeshared flights to and from Auckland on LA, so much so that I only flew VA (gold status) or LA to AKL prior to this trip. Ended up on QF145 on the way over on Sunday afternoon.

It seems to beg the question how long QF will persist with the B744 on the SYD-SCL route now, especially considering their oneWorld alliance member is doing direct on a B789 three times a week. They would be smart to run a B789 on the days that LATAM is not going direct from a fuel perspective alone.
