DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A LAME THAT IS EITHER IN BIRSVILLE OR CLOSISH TO.

Got a Chieftain with a dead starter motor..

Andrew, the closest I can think of is either in Longreach (not sure of the name), or Mark Robertson of Western Aircraft Maintenance in Charleville.

the thought did cross my mind.... find Mark Robertson and found the part in Sydney but my Baron is not available to get it up there so found one in QLD and being sent to Mark today.

Very stressing days

Hope you get the Chief up and airborne again in no time Andrew. Can't get too much more remote than Birdsville to go unserviceable!

I had maintenance support pre-arranged at Alice, then Parafield which is its fligth plan but i guess its a learning experiance...

Ive never had a problem with my aircraft going away in the past but there is a first for everything. Thankfully the people using it are happy at the pub
Not the cheapest fix but ill be glad to get it back home

He would want to be because i had to pay him $4,000.00 upfront ontop of the 1600 starter motor
