RTO Tullamarine 21 November
Just saw on Sky News a report that a Qantas B767 had an RTO in Melbourne today "after a warning light indicated an engine malfunction".
Does anyone know more?

Am i correct in saying that the things the media are reporting are every day occurances for airlines like British Airways, Singapore Airlines etc?
the -OJK and-QPA incidences, obviouly, are out of the ord but everything else they report seems so...insignificant |

Absolutely correct Jack. This is not just the case with aviation either.
A few examples: In Sydney there was an attempted abduction a few months ago. All of a sudden the media are reporting minor incidents involving "attempted abductions" which otherwise aren't normally reported and are just creating panic. Also, a few years ago there was an incident involving animal cruelty against a kitten which was caught on CCTV. Over the next few months, the media were reporting every single case involving animal cruelty. There are probably many examples of this. These are two examples off the top of my head. We just have to wait a few months for this media hype to die down, and little instances like this won't be reported anymore. |
