Default Unusual flight track

Hi All.
Observed a Qantas 767 fly right overhead here (Muswellbrook) heading west
at around (guessing here) 20000 ft. Time was 4:45pm.Plenty of a/c fly over here everyday, and I think this is the first time I have seen one heading in this direction. I am assuming that it was heading for Sydney and given a turn for ATC purposes.
Any ideas what the flight was ?
Steve

Thanks Bernard. The timing sounds about right, they just took the scenic route ;-)
