Default REX runs off runway at Mount Gambier

Regional aircraft in runway mishap

A Regional Express aircraft has run off the end of the runway at Mount Gambier in the south-east of South Australia.

It was landing off at about 8:15am ACST when it left the runway at the southern end at the airport.

It is not known whether anyone has been hurt or the extent of any damage to the Rex aircraft.

is it only VH-SBA in those colours ?

that livery has been in adelaide alot lately , unsure if it's the only one tho.

Unsure if any others are painted that way, but I can confirm that this is VH-SBA.

Further details from abc.net.au:

"Everyone stayed really calm. The captain come (sic) over pretty quickly and said 'Everyone just be seated, everything's fine so just be patient', so everyone was really good. We were all pretty quiet."

The aircraft had 31 passengers and three crew on board.

Regional Express said there was no damage to the aircraft.

Assuming he landed on RWY 18, there is a 17 foot drop in the 2 thresholds which doesn't help things.


212 down to 195 AMSL
