Historical Reg Number Help!!
Hello Everyone!
This is my first post! I've been dying to find out the registration numbers of the flights I took 7 years ago across Australia... and I stumbled across the amazing 16right! Only to found my flights were just slightly before its earliest records... So I came here hoping to get some helps from you guys!! I hope this is the right place to post this kind of request. If not, please let me know. Here are the flights: (Time is local, scheduled time) 2005-05-31 / CX 111 / HKG-SYD / Arrival at 06:15 (HKG Departure: 05-30, 19:10) 2005-06-09 / DJ 712 / CBR-MEL / 0915-1020 2005-06-16 / DJ 315 / MEL-BNE / 1030-1230 2005-06-17 / CX 102 / BNE-HKG / Departure at 13:05 (HKG Arrival: same day, 19:55) I have tried many places but couldn't get any clue... Hope someone can help me! Thanks for taking your time reading.  bryan

Hi Bryan,
I had a look on Oz-Spotters, which has several ACARS/SBS logs per day, going back to 2000, but unfortunately in 2005, Virgin Blue aircraft didn't 'ping' & there is no report for either Cathay Pacific aircraft either. So unless someone was at the airport on those days, & keen enough to log the flight numbers......! Cheers, Ian.

Hello Ian & everyone,
Thank you so much for taking your time checking up the reg numbers for me!!! Truly appreciate your help! I guess this will become very difficult for me though... I wrote to Virgin Australia but they said they didn't have the record... And now you mentioned that at the time Virgin Blue didn't send out any info.... I even tried to ask CASA but they said they didn't hold any records there... mmm... I thought such records should be with civil aviation authority like CASA... Well.. I guess I can only have my fingers crossed and hope for the miracles!!!!! If there's any other place I can try, please let me know! I would like to thank Ian and everyone else who reads this and who tries to help me. Thank you! P.S. My post was moved to "Rego Request." But I checked the guideline, it says posts for past flights enquires go to "Spotting and Movements." "Rego Request" is for upcoming flights.... Shouldn't my post be "Spotting and Movements" since it's about past flights?? Sorry for asking this newbie question.. :P Thanks for moderating your own thread, you are correct!  - at least this way you got coverage in both sections - mod

Maybe a long shot, but have you had a look at JetPhotos and airliners.net to see if someone took any photos and published them on the days you refer to?

Hi Bryan,
You might like to try Oz Spotters and see if any of the ADS-B guru's over there had any logs from back in 05. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/oz-spotters/ Good luck!

Hello guys!!
I am very grateful for all your help!!! Thank you Ian, Nigel and Kurt - I have searched around those sites you mentioned. No success, but my thanks are no less! I do learn something from it like JetPhotos and Airliners sometimes have different photos - good for cross-referencing planes!!! And just when I felt defeated then I saw Andi's miraculous message!!! Thank you Andi for your help and your time!!!! I'm really speechless!!! May I humbly ask the source Andi? Are the records from Acars or movements? Your personal record?? Could I have the privilege to know more??? I'm beyond impressed!!!! And actually.... I have 2 more flights that I originally sorta gave up finding the reg number... but now I regain some hopes! It was my first ever visit to Oz!!! (Time is local, scheduled time) 1999-08-30 / AE 801 / TPE-SYD / Arrival at 09:50 (TPE Departure: 8-29, 22:50) 1999-09-02 / AE 802 / SYD-TPE / Departure at 11:45 (TPE Arrival: same day, 19:00) It would be really nice if anyone could offer me any form of help!
