Hi there,
I recently received a Qantas Gift Voucher and after reading through the Terms and Conditions, I am still unsure if I (as a QFF member) will accrue status credits on the flight that I redeem my gift voucher on. If flights booked on a gift voucher are eligible for status credits; will they also qualify for the 'double status credits' promo offer Qantas are currently running if the flight was booked (and travelled) within the promo period? Cheers. |

Yes, and yes, as long as you have first registered for the double SC promotion. More to be found at AusBT.com.au

Thanks Yusef. Yes, I have already registered with the promotion so hopefully the flight I take using the gift voucher is eligible for the double credits.
Cheers. |

If I use Gift Vouchers to book flights, can I earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points for that service, i.e. earning double points?
Eg. If I buy a $100 voucher, spend $95 on SYD - MEL, so I can earn 1000 points for the voucher and 1000 points for the flight?

These vouchers are great value and I have stocked up very well for this year of flying! 10 points per $1 on the voucher 0-2 points per $1 from your credit card Then 1000 or more points from redeeming the voucher/flying So for me 12 x points per $1 No credit card fee ![]() 1000+ points for the flight So for say a $100 spend on a voucher, I value the points etc at $95 so it's a very very very good value proposition. Now for QF of course a chunk of voucher will never be used, just like any other gift card provider |

Which $5 not used is still cheaper than $7 booking fee.

Of course, but if you have left-over value say $5 on the voucher.
You can book another flight for $$ and just pay the difference on a credit card, and no booking fee again ![]() It does get a bit messy managing the vouchers at times, as when you use one, the remaining $ is created into a new voucher/booking reference number. |
