Default Alitalia AZA642 Squawk 7700

I just received an "Incident Squawk Alert" on my iPad 2 from FlightRadar for Alitalia flight AZA642 showing a Squawk code of 7700.

The aircraft departed Rome for New York and was tracking west over France when the 7700 was transmitted. The aircraft did an
immediate 180 degree turn and is now heading back towards Italy.

0845L The aircraft is now heading towards Milan and has descended from FL240 to 4000ft, and now Squawking 4612.

2100L AZA642 has just landed at Milan Malpensa airport in northern Italy.
