QF Domestic overhaul
I have just read on the travel Daily today
QF dom. overhaul? QANTAS is rumoured to be looking at refreshing its domestic product on all new Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 aircraft, with an announcement to be made soon. According to an online blog, the cabin enhancements incl 9” video screens in Economy Class and 10.6” screens in Business Class. Any one have any other information to add. So it would seem if this is the case 767's and existing 737's will remain as is. I guess further information forthcoming tomorrow perhaps. |

Hi,
Its already in place... The 3x new trans tasman B73Hs already feature the new seats plus IFE. The 2 new domestic A332s that are on the way will also feature the same product. Its only a matter of time before the existing B73H fleet is upgraded. The B763s and B734s will remain as is. This could also have something to do with this: http://yssyforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=4346 Apparently every aircraft and every config is being looked at... |

The answer I received from a senior of that area today at an employee event indicated otherwise. There is absolutely no plans to refit the existing fleet. When asked if this included EBJ, he said 'probably'.

So basically all 3 domestic A332s (2 new and the exisiting EBJ) will have the new domestic product, + all new B73H deliveries. Thanks |

What I meant was that EBJ will probably NOT be reconfigured. Sorry for the confusion. His answer did not seem as definite as when quizzed about the existing 73H fleet - but this guy would know. Perhaps they are yet to make a final decision re EBJ?
Sorry to break the news, Brad. I guess we will have to wait and see! |

Huge cost to refit the existing fleet of B737's.
Would it gain much over what they currently have ? Probably not |

It seems that Qantas are going for personal IFE on all of their newer domestic aircraft now:
