Default Qantas B744 VH-OEC

Hi All,

Noticed this aircraft hasn't been appearing on Sydney ACARS lately.
Just curious to know why not. Could it be off for heavy maintenance or is it
for some other reason?

Any info would be appreciated.

Jim,

Looks like OEC did the QF108 service back at the end of November then went to Avalon for just over a month. It then operated a Sydney-Melbourne service in early January but nothing since. I also checked the ACARSD website and they have the last recorded flight as QF6195 on the 28th Nov 08.

Grahame just beat me to it; my acars history shows 29 Nov 08 as the last entry.

The SYD-MEL flight mentioned was actually operated by VH-OGC which highlights the problem with 'faulty' transmissions that are frequent with the acars system.

Good pickup Peter .. .

VH-OGC QF0423 06/01/2009 10:33 Qantas B767-338(ER) Sydney-Melbourne
VH-OEC QF0423 06/01/2009 10:37 Qantas B747-4HD Sydney-Melbourne

So this makes it almost 3 months since any activity.

Noticed on Sydney ACARS for 23/2/09 that OJN was Avalon bound as QF6195 and OEC has returned as Lee stated.

Maybe OJN will be the next to disappear for a while??

OEC departed 1 hour late today as QF 107 to Los Angeles, and it had a funny looking engine:
